There is one symbol that is common to all activities accredited by UKAS - the Royal Crown. This signifies Government recognition. The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) has licensed UKAS to use accreditation symbols featuring the Royal Crown (see back cover) and to sub-license the use of these marks to UKAS accredited organisations.
These symbols allow prospective users of accredited services to make an informed choice. By choosing a UKAS accredited body, prospective users can be assured that they are receiving the most appropriate service for their needs and will also discover that the UKAS ‘symbol’ on their documentation brings with it national and international recognition to their business.
