At UKAS, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for our staff, representatives and customers. We value positive interactions and believe that everyone deserves to be treated with courtesy, dignity and respect.

Respecting Our Team

We understand that issues may arise, and we welcome feedback and constructive discussions. However, we will not tolerate any form of abusive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour towards our employees, contractors or representatives.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Verbal abuse, including shouting, threats, or discriminatory language, which includes language that causes distress or fear.
  • Written abuse in letters, emails and/or posted online and/or in any other public or social media which includes making unsubstantiated allegations or derogatory comments.
  • Physical intimidation or violence.
  • Harassment, bullying, or inappropriate comments.
  • Repeated unreasonable demands or refusal to engage respectfully.
  • Damage to property or deliberate disruption of services.

Our Response to Poor Behaviour

We reserve the right to take appropriate action against unacceptable behaviour, which may include:

  • A verbal or written warning about the conduct, giving an opportunity to moderate behaviour.
  • Restricting communication to specific channels or representatives.
  • Refusing service, ending a call or revoking access to our premises.
  • Deleting unacceptable social media posts without a response and restricting further contact.
  • Reporting serious incidents to law enforcement, for example, threats of harm to self or others or suspected criminal activity. Decisions on safeguarding and disclosure will be taken on a case-by-case basis.
