Sanctions

ISO/IEC 17011 states that Accreditation Bodies are required to have procedures for suspension, withdrawal or reduction of the accreditation scope (collectively referred to as ‘Sanctions’).

Below is a summary of recent activity. Lists of organisations with scopes which are currently suspended (imposed or voluntary), and those organisations with their scopes of accreditation withdrawn or resigned during the past 12 months, can be found here.

  • For the period October - December 2024
    • Imposed total suspensions: 3 organisations (3 testing laboratories)
    • Imposed total withdrawals: 0 organisations
  • For the period July - September 2024
    • Imposed total suspensions: 5 organisation (2 testing laboratories, 2 medical laboratories, and 1 inspection body)
    • Imposed total withdrawals: 5 organisations (1 calibration laboratory, 1 inspection body, and 3 certification bodies)
  • For the period April - June 2024
    • Imposed total suspensions: 5 organisations (2 testing laboratories, 1 calibration laboratory, 1 medical laboratory, and 1 inspection body)
    • Imposed total withdrawals: 6 organisations (2 testing laboratories, 2 inspection bodies, and 2 calibration laboratories)
  • For the period January - March 2024
    • Imposed total suspensions: 12 organisations (1 inspection body, 4 physiological services, 3 medical laboratories, and 3 calibration laboratories)
    • Imposed total withdrawals: 0 organisations

    • Imposed total suspensions: 9 organisations (3 medical laboratories, 2 testing laboratories,  1 inspection body, and 3 physiological services)
