Lord Mayor’s Show 2024

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is proud to join forces with the British Standards Institution (BSI), the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI), the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), and the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers (WCSIM) to take part in this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show.

Taking place on Saturday 9 November 2024 in Central London, we will be coming together to form the National Quality Infrastructure float.

The Lord Mayor’s Show is a grand procession spanning three miles that dates back to the early 13th century. It follows the 800-year-old tradition of the newly elected Lord Mayor of London rowing, riding, or marching from Mansion House to Westminster to swear loyalty to the Crown and begin their year in office.

This year’s parade involves 7,000 participants, 200 horses, approximately 150 floats and the gilded ‘State Coach’ that transports the Lord Mayor.

The Lord Mayor’s Show will be televised by the BBC on the day.
