Breaking News: ISO 17021-1 Confirmed for 5 further years

UKAS’ Divisional Director – Technical, Rob Bettinson, welcomes the announcement from ISO that the result of the systematic review ballot for ISO/IEC 17021-1 has been to confirm the standard for a further 5 year period.

This is important news for Certification Bodies as wholesale revision of a standard can lead to a significant amount of additional effort to update their own systems and processes, retrain auditors, and ensure that new requirements that impact on the operations of their certified clients are also implemented within a strict timeframe. Confirmation that there will not be a revision for at least 5 years enables certification bodies to concentrate on continued delivery of existing services which is challenge enough during these difficult times.
