Over 2.4 million organisations across the globe benefit from certification against management systems standards agreed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The most widely adopted of these is ISO 9001, the standard for quality management system requirements, the latest version of which was published in 2015.
A new industry position statement has been published regarding accredited and non-accredited certification. Consistent with UK Government’s conformity assessment and accreditation policy, the signatories to this statement advise that organisations requiring conformity assessment should only use the services of conformity assessment bodies which are accredited by the national accreditation body.
