Accreditation Support Manager
George joined UKAS in 2008 as an Assessment Manager, undertaking both the Lead Assessor role to ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 17043 and Technical Assessor role to ISO/IEC 17025 for asbestos testing, becoming the UKAS technical focal person (TFP) for asbestos in 2012. Moving to his current role as Accreditation Support Manager in 2015, internal and commercial training became his ‘bread and butter’ on a day-to-day basis, whilst supporting UKAS’ own audit schedule for ISO/IEC 17011 compliance and retaining the roles of Lead and Technical Assessor.
Prior to joining UKAS, George worked in different roles in the commercial testing/inspection sector, before being promoted to Laboratory Manager in an ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020 accredited asbestos consultancy. George holds a BSc in Physics and certificate of competence in asbestos (CoCA). George enjoys walking and a spot of DIY that’s not too challenging.
