Application of ISO/IEC 17020:2012 for the Accreditation of Inspection Bodies
Please be aware that ILAC has now published the above publication, which provides information for use by both accreditation bodies and inspection bodies on the application of ISO/IEC 17020:2012.

The publication replaces IAF/ILAC A4; however ILAC has confirmed that A4 will remain in force, for ISO/IEC: 17020: 2004, until the transition deadline for the 2012 standard i.e. until 1st March 2015.
ILAC has stated that implementation is required within 18 months of the publication date; therefore Accreditation Bodies and Conformity Assessment Bodies offering inspection services need to have implemented this into their systems and processes by December 2015.
CABs should review the document to ascertain whether it has any effect on current arrangements.
At scheduled UKAS assessments between now and December 2015 the UKAS assessment team will discuss and review each CAB’s implementation plan and progress.
