This practical and interactive blended course (2 days classroom and approx 1 day coursework) will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to design and develop their internal auditing processes.
This course will highlight the value of having effective audit mechanisms in place that ensure a systematic, disciplined approach to the evaluation and improvement of risk management, quality assurance and technical excellence.
During the course, learners will be signposted to selected key conformance requirements of healthcare standards such as IQIPS 2023 v2.1, QSI 2021 v2 and ISO 15189:2022. Learners will also gain an appreciation of ISO 19011 guidelines, ensuring that relevant aspects for the design, management and implementation of their internal auditing processes are considered.
This blended course is split into two sections:
- Part One – Self-directed eLearning module (mandatory completion required prior to access to trainer-led sessions), taking approximately four hours to complete
- Part Two – Two-day trainer-led face-to-face/virtual workshop

Learners will need access to two computer screens for group exercises if attending a virtual course.
Learners will be required to complete the online pre-course learning and submit an assignment in advance of attending the trainer-led element of this blended course. Learners are responsible for ensuring that approximately four hours are dedicated to this activity prior to attending the instructor-led session.

Blended learning combines self-directed eLearning with trainer-led sessions, in a seamless learning flow. This allows the learner flexibility in completing ‘part one’ of the course and ensures all learners enter the trainer-led session with the same knowledge of the foundational principles to be further explored and expanded upon during the course.
